Last spring, during one of my first visits I mentioned the importance of twenty-first century skills. The most well-known skills are creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. I suggested there is room for one more -- community. Being part of a nurturing, supportive, vibrant community helps students -- and adults -- feel a sense of belonging and mutual support. The excitement expressed by our students yesterday reminds us all of the importance of our school and our shared mission. Thank you for partnering with us and helping start off the school year with such energy. It’s going to be an extraordinary year.
