Summer Programs

Join the summer fun at James River Day School! There are many opportunities for engaging enrichments (rising K through 8th grade), and James River offers our 8-week Summer Day Camp for kids in rising first grade through age 12.

Frances B. Butler

After being in the banking business for 25 years, Frances left banking after having her daughter, Marion. Marion attended James River from kindergarten through eighth grade, graduating in 2010. Frances remarked, "I have always had a special place in my heart for James River. I guess it was all those years of lunchroom duty and volunteering around the school."

Many in the Lynchburg area may know Frances because she worked at the Farm Basket in different departments and capacities up until taking her position here. Her connections to James River and the larger Lynchburg community, as well as her personable demeanor and ability to multitask, make Frances an asset to the school. She was hired as our Front Desk Receptionist/Administrative Assistant in January 2022.
