Laurel Feinman joined the JRDS faculty in the spring of 2019 as a long-term substitute teacher in third grade. Now, she is one of our outstanding lower school teachers in third grade. She is thrilled to be back in a classroom after taking an extended break to raise her children and pursue other vocations.
Originally from Texas, Mrs. Feinman moved to Lynchburg in 1998 when she married her husband Jimmy, a Lynchburg native and busy attorney. Mrs. Feinman graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in Spanish. She attained her teaching certification from the University of Texas (Tyler), and endorsements in Gifted Education and Advanced Placement from Baylor University.
Mrs. Feinman loves watching UVA basketball, fishing on the James River, and hosting parties. Mrs. Feinman's daughter Hallie is a sophomore at the College of William & Mary, and her son Max is an eighth-grader at JRDS. She has a black lab named Gale and a silly pug named Gidget, who would make terrific characters in a children's book series.
