Ms. Tammy Mason joined the staff of James River Day School in the summer of 2020 as the School's Technology Coordinator.
Ms. Mason grew up in Columbia, Maryland, but has been living in Lynchburg for more than three decades. After graduating from Howard County Public Schools (in Maryland), Tammy went on to earn a B.S. in mathematics (cum laude) from Wake Forest University in 1981 and her Masters in Education from the University of Lynchburg in 1990. Ms. Mason taught secondary math for 19 years and was an Instructional Technology Specialist for 14 years with Lynchburg City Schools.
Tammy lives in Lynchburg with her youngest son, Micajah, and their two cats, Baby and Cali. Throughout the year, you can find Tammy and Micajah trying new recipes together in the kitchen, hiking/bicycling throughout the state, and building campfires to cook their meals over an open fire.
