Welcome back to a new year and a new decade! The students were so glad to be back with their friends after more than two weeks away from school. I have been told by more than one parent how excited and eager their children were to return, asking “is it time to go back to school yet?” That’s certainly not typical of most schools! And, the faculty and staff were eager to see their students and to welcome the three new students who joined us on Monday. The new students were welcomed by their classmates and have adapted quickly to their new school environment.

Interest in James River, both for the current year and next year, continues to be high. The Admissions Office has been quite busy lately with Maryanna Stands conducting numerous tours, testing applicants, and giving prospective families the opportunity to get to know James River. As a result, we are reaching maximum capacity for next year in several grades. Here are a few numbers:
New students since the start of school: 5
2020-2021 kindergarten applications:  33
2020-2021 1st-8th grade applications:  7

You have helped make this happen! Thank you for championing our exceptional school as parents and as volunteers, and thank you for sharing your enthusiasm for the school with others in the community!
