Cardinal Theatre to stage "Annie"

Two hallmarks of a James River education that set us apart from other schools are our dedication to public speaking skills and our commitment to providing many varied enrichment opportunities. When you marry the two, magic happens!

James River students are challenged and supported to become exceptional communicators. Our graduates are consistently recognized for their public speaking and presentation skills because they are given countless opportunities to practice, beginning in the earliest grades.

On April 28 and 29, many of our middle school students will take their public speaking skills to the dramatic stage in a presentation of Annie. Their director (one of our 3rd-grade teachers), Ann Shenigo, brings years of experience in leading dramatic productions while at Holy Cross. Her enthusiasm and drive have been vital in the return of our middle school Cardinal Theatre program, which supports our belief in cherishing the whole child and providing enrichment opportunities for all talents and interests. Under Ann’s capable direction, the students’ hard work, commitment, and talent will be showcased. They have been rehearsing tirelessly, and I hope you will buy your tickets and join us in supporting Cardinal Theatre. It is going to be a wonderful show! You might even see a faculty member or two on stage!

Performances will be on the stage of the fellowship hall at First Presbyterian Church.
