This semester, our first grade students became global engineering partners with a class in Bangalore, India. Each week we read a piece of literature that teaches a character trait. We then engage in design challenges that tie into the book we have read. We begin each lesson by asking a question, imagining, planning, creating, and improving our designs. This has been an amazing experience for our students. They are becoming global collaborators and communicators at such a young age, while learning about the lives and cultures of children in India.
