Matthew Farley
Matthew Farley became James River's Director of Enrollment Management effective July 2023.
Matthew said about joining James River, “I have always known, as a Lynchburg native, the academic excellence at JRDS. And as a Boy Scout pack leader, I know how important citizenship and leadership are for children and the difference it makes.”
Matthew previously served as an assistant principal for a school in Charlottesville. A native of Lynchburg, he has experience spanning elementary to high school levels. He has served as a band director, instructional coach, and assistant principal. He earned his B.A. in music education from the University of Cincinnati and his M.Ed. in leadership and supervision from the University of Virginia. He and his wife, Charlotte, have two boys. He loves to read, cook, and be outdoors.
