Summer Programs

Join the summer fun at James River Day School! There are many opportunities for engaging enrichments (rising K through 8th grade), and James River offers our 8-week Summer Day Camp for kids in rising first grade through age 12.

Jenn Lindsay

Jenn Lindsay was appointed James River Day School's ninth Head of School effective July 2023.

Born and raised in North Florida, Jenn has lived as far away as Alaska and Arizona but prefers the Southeastern United States; she relocated to Lynchburg from Chattanooga, Tennessee. Jenn earned her B.A. in sociology from the University of Florida and began her career as an IT professional. After starting a family, she returned to school to earn her M.A. in secondary social studies education from the University of South Florida. Since then, Jenn has served in multiple independent schools for over 20 years as a history teacher, Diversity Coordinator, and Division Head before taking over the headship at James River.

Jenn and her husband, Jeff, are excited about living in Lynchburg as empty nesters. They have three adult children: Jinah, Eden, and Anna, and two rescue dogs, Sam and Lily. When not working, Jenn enjoys a great cup of coffee with Jeff, hiking, reading a book, or tending to her house plants.
