Michelle Lucado

Michelle joined James River Day School in August 2023, coming to us from Amherst Baptist Church Primary School, where she served as a primary school director and kindergarten teacher. Prior to that, she served in several public school systems as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher and has owned two private preschools, serving ages 2 to 5.

 

A native of Amherst County, Michelle earned her B.S. in Child Psychology from Hollins University in Roanoke, VA. She lives in the beautiful mountains of Nelson County with her husband, Bobby, her son, Carson, and her sweet Maltese, Emmie Sue. 

She has this to say about her move to James River, “I have spent my last 19 years teaching preschool, kindergarten, and first grade, both in the public and private setting. I love the littles! I was looking for a new school, one that I knew I could stay at until retirement. The JRDS staff were so warm and welcoming that I knew I had found my new home.”
