Join the summer fun at James River Day School! There are many opportunities for engaging enrichments (rising K through 8th grade), and James River offers our 8-week Summer Day Camp for kids in rising first grade through age 12.

Build-a-Trail

What: Build-a-Trail
When: 6/25/2021, 9:00 AM – 11:45 AM

Did you know that JRDS used to have a nature trail? It’s time to bring it back better than ever. Our goal is to rebuild the nature trail through the woods next to the athletic fields. Depending on time and interest, projects may include bridge building, trail clearing, tree identification, and installation of signs, plus map making, bird-house making, rock painting, as well as planting native trees or flowers. Students will be closely supervised in the use of any tools. This camp will be kept small, giving campers lots of input on the direction of this project. Students will build something truly useful for our community and gain hands-on experience. This is a great opportunity for a small group of people to do something big.
