Recently, Mr. James Holzhauer has been breaking records on the Jeopardy! game show. He’s employed a number of clever game theory strategies that have influenced his success managing the game. However, it takes more than clever strategies to win the game; one has to actually know the answers! When asked how he acquired the knowledge that has been critical to his success, he reported to the New Your Times:

I have a strategy of reading children’s books to gain knowledge. I’ve found that in an adult reference book, if it’s not a subject I’m interested in, I just can’t get into it. I was thinking, what is the place in the library I can go to to get books tailored to make things interesting for uninterested readers? Boom. The children’s section.

Mr. Holzhauer discovered what we already know! There is no better place than the Taylor Media Center to find great resources for non-fiction research. What he might be missing is that a great library like ours also has an incredible fiction and picture book collection, books that inspire our students and light their imaginations on fire.

We love our library and know it’s the heart of our school. With the incredible support of you, our community, this year’s Bird Bash will help us realize the 21st century vision of the Taylor Media Center. It will serve generations of Cardinals to come!
