Thank you, James River Parents, for participating in our fall Parent Survey last week. We had a very high level of responses and wonderful feedback. I appreciate the information you shared with us. Our families’ input on how things are working helps us refine our processes and procedures. Educating your students is truly a partnership and your perspective as parents helps us improve. Your feedback lets us know when we’re on the right track and when we might need to adjust.

In the survey, parents answered whether they would recommend James River to other families with an overwhelmingly emphatic “Yes!” We averaged 9.6 on a scale of 0 to 10 (with 10 meaning the respondent would be extremely likely to recommend James River). This is fantastic! Our teachers and staff are working tirelessly and appreciate knowing that you applaud them and their efforts. Thank you.

While we are happy and proud of all the successes, we would be remiss to not carefully consider the ways we can continue to improve. The growth mindset embraced by faculty and staff is one of the reasons James River excels in challenging and cherishing your students. Your comments help to guide our focus to areas we can address and make adjustments. We heard you with regard to the Seesaw platform in K-1 and our Technology Coordinator, Tammy Mason, is already working to schedule a Zoom tutorial for parents. We heard you with regard to screen-time and the weight of backpacks in middle school, and our faculty are monitoring and discussing ways to reduce both.

James River is a dynamic institution and the education of your children is a continuously evolving process, especially in these trying times. Thank you once again for your ongoing support. We truly cannot do our job without you.
