Donor Spotlight

This week's Donor Spotlight is on fourth grade teacher, Brooke Stanley.

How long have you been part of the James River community?
I have been a fourth grade teacher at James River for the past three years. My son, Camden, also attends James River and is in first grade.

What do you like most about James River?
There are many things I love about James River. The James River community is a very close-knit community that really feels like a family. The faculty and staff, as well as the parents, have a close relationship, and we all want the best for our students. The students are a huge part of what makes James River special. They enjoy coming to school and are eager to work hard and learn new things, while having a positive attitude.

Why do you encourage others to support James River through the Cardinal Annual Fund?
From a teacher's perspective, supporting James River through the Cardinal Annual Fund is very important because it allows teachers to fund new materials in order to be able to teach in new and innovative ways. This year, more than ever, teachers are going above and beyond to make this the best experience possible for our students given the circumstances. From a parent's perspective, I wanted to donate to help make sure my child was getting the enrichment and education that is best for him. Also, donating shows the teachers that we are a "team," and we are all in this together.
