Today’s Thankful Hearts Feast was a welcome return to almost normal. Although we were not able to invite families to attend due to COVID restrictions, this year’s Feast still provided us an opportunity to share a meal together as a school and to be grateful for all our many blessings.
Sometimes in the rush of day-to-day life, we forget to reflect on how very fortunate we all are, and Thankful Hearts is a wonderful reminder to do so. In conjunction with our Parents’ Association sponsored canned food drive, it also gave us an opportunity to give back to our local community. By the way, we set a new record for food collections--over 11,000 cans of food! Thankful Hearts and our canned food drive are such quintessential James River traditions.
I hope you will enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday break, and I encourage you to continue to make the harder, smarter choices when gathering with others outside our community.
Please stay safe, stay well, and we’ll see you on November 29.
