Back to School Night Returns

getting ready for Back to School Night
For the first time in three years Back to School Night brings us all together, in person, as a community tonight, Thursday, Sept. 22. It is an opportunity to reflect on where the school has been, take note of where we are as this new school year begins, and look ahead to the future of James River Day School.
It is important for parents to visit the classrooms, continue building relationships with the teachers and get to know fellow parents. It builds community. Back to School Night is an excellent opportunity to celebrate the incredible parent-faculty-student partnership that is a hallmark of a James River education. Together, we make a great team.

I want to thank the faculty for all they’ve done to put together their presentations for tonight. I know you will enjoy and learn a lot from them.

I also wish to thank parents for your commitment to your children’s education at James River. The investment parents make in the school goes far beyond the tuition paid. You are willing to follow the school’s requests and requirements. You are patient when new procedures take time to perfect. You support your children and your children’s teachers. This kind of partnership is foundational to the school’s success, and I deeply appreciate it. I hope you enjoy Back to School Night!
