Summer Programs

Join the summer fun at James River Day School! There are many opportunities for engaging enrichments (rising K through 8th grade), and James River offers our 8-week Summer Day Camp for kids in rising first grade through age 12.

I cannot say it enough, THANK YOU! The support of the school community has been tremendous this week.

Our team set big goals for our third annual Day of Gratitude on Tuesday, and you surpassed them! We are so appreciative of the love and support you showed. It truly has made us feel good to know that James River means this much to you.

Our first goal for the Day of Gratitude was to receive 50 gifts or pledges in that single day. And you came through with 94(!) gifts and pledges.

Our second goal was to raise at least $50,000. Again, you showed us the love. Over $52,000 was raised for the Cardinal Annual Fund, bringing our total for the 2022-2023 school year to already over $71,000!

The support from our community is astounding. Thank you to all of the parents, students, grandparents, alumni, alumni families, friends, faculty, staff, and trustees who made donations to support James River on Tuesday. We also thank everyone who shared our story with others on social media, by phone, or through email. You truly shared the joy of giving.

You also supported the school as our community met with and interviewed the three finalists in our search for the next Head of School. You came out for multiple meetings. You completed the surveys. And you gave each candidate your serious and thoughtful consideration. That is much appreciated.

James River Day School is truly a special community, and we are grateful that you are each a part of it.
