Getting Ready for August

Dear James River Families,

I hope your summer has been refreshing so far, with plenty of time to enjoy family and friends. The summer at James River has been busy and full of learning for our leadership team, and I will admit that I can hardly wait to have the students back in our halls. Schools are not the same without the students’ infectious energy and joy.

Throughout the summer, I have engaged in many conversations to become immersed in the culture of James River, and I am grateful for everyone who has aided my learning and provided feedback. I have been reminded time and again of my first impressions of our community as a place that genuinely cherishes children and finds joy in learning. As we welcome our youngest students to the Class of 2032, we are committed to helping them grow as curious learners and kind community members. We reaffirm our partnership with parents at all grade levels in educating the whole child and promoting the well-being of our students and their families. I am equally excited to watch the Class of 2024 step into their leadership roles within our student community and celebrate their growth and success before heading on to their next chapter.

I am eager to welcome you back for the 2023-24 school year, and I look forward to making this year our best one yet!

Let’s Fly!
