Earlier this week, I attended the VAIS Heads Conference. I had a great time connecting with other Heads of Schools and discussing the state of Virginia's independent schools. It is easy to become so immersed in the day-to-day of our individual schools that we can forget that our peers face many of the same challenges and joys. It was also an opportunity to put on my “oxygen mask” and get re-energized for the end of the year. All-in-all, this conference helped me feel affirmed in my decision to lead James River and steward its future.
