"Goodness consists not in the outward things we do, but in the inward thing we are." –E.H. Chapin
I look forward to seeing you at the Thankful Hearts feast next week. We are fortunate to be able to gather as a community with the support of our PA and give back to the greater Lynchburg community with our canned food drive. Starting tomorrow, please bring in canned/boxed non-perishable food items to help combat food insecurity in our area. More details are below.
In other community service news, I recently chatted with Casey Eccles, our Community Service Coordinator. Working with our staff and faculty, Casey is reorienting Hanging of the Greens so that it aligns with our community service program, as well as our mission and values.
Our Hanging of the Greens festivities on December 6 will continue to be a school-wide event, with a Wrap-In, to support the Jubilee Center and the Daily Bread. We want to show these Lynchburg neighbors how much we care by encouraging each student to bring one unwrapped, new gift to donate and wrap with their Cardinal Buddies. The type of gift will be assigned by grade level. The school will provide gift bags for students to decorate and fill. Specific information about what item to purchase by class or advisory will be sent home before Thanksgiving break. All gift purchases should be under $15.
We have much to look forward to in the coming weeks. Please stay tuned and give each weekly email a thorough reading.
Let's Fly!
