Wishing You the Happiest of Holidays!

“What you learn today, for no reason at all, will help you discover all the wonderful secrets of tomorrow.” --Norton Juster

As we head off campus for the final days of 2024, I want to thank everyone who has contributed to our amazing school. I have enjoyed watching this school community grow and thrive. Seeing our community at the various events over the last couple of weeks has been a true joy. Of course, it was the icing on the cake to see our fourth graders perform last week and our middle school students on stage this week. I am constantly in awe of their growth, resilience, and perseverance. We even got a glimpse into the power of music education in developing strength of character on Tuesday as our students navigated the weather changes and the impact on their instruments. Bravo to them for their flexibility and perseverance! They are also very talented!

I would also like to extend my gratitude to the families who completed our one-question survey last week. This survey, known as a Net Promoter Survey, provides a valuable snapshot of how we are doing: 82.5% of the participants ranked James River with a nine or a ten, with an overall average rating of 9.3. I always appreciate those who take the time to provide additional feedback. Our survey was overwhelmingly positive, but it was heartening to see that areas for improvement closely align with our internal conversations, particularly in technology usage and communication. It is good to know that we are in sync with our community’s needs.

I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season. For those who celebrate, Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah. We will see you in 2025!

Let’s Fly!
