Teacher Appreciation, Field Day, & Graduation

“A word after a word after a word is power.” –Margaret Atwood

As Teacher Appreciation Week winds down, I want to share my gratitude to our Parents Association, which has provided our faculty with wonderful treats and joy this week. Acknowledging the hard work of our teachers and staff is always appreciated, especially during the final weeks of school.

A few reminders about the final weeks of school:

  • Next Friday, May 16, is All-School Field Day. Our 8th graders were instrumental in making Field Day an all-school event, and I look forward to watching them have fun and lead our younger students in some healthy competition.
  • This is a reminder that Thursday, May 21, is the last day of school for most students. After the All-School Awards that morning, students will receive their yearbooks and have the opportunity to get their yearbooks signed by friends, faculty, and staff. It is an early dismissal day (K-4 at 11:30 a.m. and 5-7 at 11:50 a.m.). Eighth graders will remain on campus for graduation rehearsal.
  • Friday, May 22, is Graduation at the Academy Center for Arts. Eighth Grade families will receive more details on Monday about the week and the ceremony.
