Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! We are off to a great start with fantastic energy and excitement. It has been a joy watching our returning students slip back into their usual routines while welcoming our newest cardinals to the nest. It is one of my favorite times of the year.
Our faculty have worked hard over the last week preparing for the new year. We opened our faculty meetings with high energy, creative problem-solving, and a lot of laughter. I am so grateful for the hard work and care this team puts into their work. We also want our faculty to model our mission as they develop their sense of curiosity about the world. Every year, we ask our faculty to complete a professional summer reading book. This year, we changed it up a bit by providing four choices, allowing faculty to choose their own adventure and explore an idea that resonated with them personally or professionally. The resulting discussions, led by faculty leaders, were lively and inspiring. I will link their book choices below if you find yourself in the market for some thought-provoking nonfiction.
On the first day of school, we started our day with a short assembly led by eighth-grade leaders Tripp Perrow and Lawson Bendall. Our leaders focused on a simple message of building character in community. Each year, our eighth graders impress me with their observations and desire to make this school a better place. I look forward to their leadership; I know we are in good hands.
As you and your family settle back into the rhythm of the school year, I would like to remind you that this weekly email is sent out every Thursday evening. It is a vital communication tool to keep you informed about what is happening all across campus, so be sure to add this to your weekly routines. In this week’s email, you will find information about the Student & Family Handbook, picture day, middle school athletics, the spirit store, and much more. If you missed it earlier this week, the links to sign up for after-care and middle school study hall are also available in the “Useful Links” section at the end of the email.
Let’s Fly!
