Plans in October (October 2, 2025)

“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” – Dr. Jane Goodall

The month of October is filled with traditional events for the James River community, beginning with our kindergartners’ first field trip to Layman Farms today and tomorrow’s Fourth-Grade One Miler. I love seeing all that our students accomplish and watching them grow in resilience and kindness along the way.

We hope to see many families in the Taylor Media Center for Family Night at the Book Fair tonight. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who made this week possible. We are also grateful to our librarian, Betsy Rhodes, for bringing back the Book Fair. It is a joy to watch our students come alive as they browse for books to add to their personal libraries at home.

I hope everyone finds time to enjoy the beautiful fall weather this weekend.

Let’s Fly!
