Kicking Off Fall Community Service at Lynchburg Grows (October 16, 2025)

“Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.” —Mother Teresa

Over the last two weeks, our school community has participated in community service at Lynchburg Grows, supported by a grant from the Greater Lynchburg Community Foundation. Under the direction of Casey Eccles, middle school English teacher and Community Service Coordinator, we began our service project with the eighth grade, who also ended their day participating in a leadership retreat and teambuilding off campus. On Friday, October 10, our faculty and staff spent a morning in service on their professional day. Not only was this work gratifying and supportive of our Lynchburg community, but it was also a wonderful morning of relationship building with our team. Finally, the leaders of the lower school, fourth grade, participated in service yesterday morning. Many of them taste-tested freshly harvested beets–some tasting a beet for the first time (with mixed reviews).

It is a joy to see our community leaders have time to connect with each other personally while also giving back to the Lynchburg community.

Let’s Fly!
