The Countdown Begins

“The future turns out to be something that you make instead of find.” –Lewis Lapham

This time of year moves quickly. With all of the events and festivities, it starts to feel a bit like a checklist as we count down to the last days of school. Bird Bash - check. Spring Conferences - check. Field Day - almost check. To keep track of all the details, it is more important than ever to read through the entire Weekly Email to stay on top of all the details.

First, I would like to thank all the volunteers and the P.A. who help make all of these community events such a success. Since Grandparents and Special Friends’ Day, volunteers have helped to keep us organized, looking festive, and fed! We couldn’t do it without all of you. From teacher-appreciation snacks to setting up for Bird Bash, and everything in between, you are the glue for this community. Thank you for your support.

Next, there are only four weeks of school left. We kick off the countdown with Field Day tomorrow. As last year, this is a whole-school event. We ask that students wear their red JRDS shirts. If they no longer fit, any red shirt will do! It looks as though the weather will warm up again just in time for the fun!

Remember to take care of yourself during the harried month of May-cember and enjoy all of these moments while they are here. As Ferris Bueller once said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

Let’s Fly!
