“Life is an exciting business and most exciting when it is lived for others.” –Helen Keller
I am so excited to have everyone on campus as we kick off the 2026-27 school year. From our youngest Cardinals in kindergarten to our oldest in 8th grade, this year has started with joy, positive energy, and deep curiosity for what the year will bring.
In our opening faculty meetings, I shared my lifelong fascination with space exploration. Growing up in Florida, watching space shuttle launches was a regular occurrence. This past spring, NASA once again flew a crewed mission, Artemis II, to orbit the moon to prepare for a future mission to return humans to the moon’s surface. The Artemis program returned to space with a capsule called Orion, launched by rocket boosters. More importantly, it has once again fueled my curiosity about space and exploration. Now, as an adult, this mission has meant more to me than just the novelty of leaving the Earth’s surface in such spectacular fashion. I am in awe of the intersection of science and engineering, the expanse of human curiosity, and the depths of human connection. Watching interviews with the crew after their return to Earth, I found myself reflecting on the “crew” of faculty and staff who every year bring wonder and joy to our students as they build their capacity for curiosity, deep learning, and character. I am in awe of the energy they bring to their work and how thoughtful they are in their preparations for the school year and beyond. They have my gratitude for all they do for our school, and thank you to our families who entrust their children with us. This year will be the best yet.
As you and your family settle back into the rhythm of the school year, I would like to remind you that this weekly email is sent out every Thursday evening. It is a vital communication tool to keep you informed about what is happening all across campus, so be sure to add this to your weekly routines. In this week’s email, you will find information about the Student & Family Handbook, picture day, middle school athletics, the spirit store, and much more. If you missed it earlier this week, the links to sign up for after-care and middle school study hall are also available in the footer section at the end of the email.
Let’s Fly!
