"Most of us spend time on what is urgent and not enough time on what is important.” –Stephen Covey
Stephen Covey, the author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, was on to something when he wrote, “The main thing is for the main thing to remain the main thing.” While Spirit Week might seem like a silly endeavor to some, it is, in fact, important work. This is a joyful time for the community to celebrate what it means to be a James River Cardinal and to honor the final days of Hispanic Heritage Month. As the holiday season approaches and schedules get busier, it is important to get back to what matters most and connect with our community.
I am so proud of our Cardinal athletes who competed against Temple Christian in volleyball and soccer this week. It was thrilling to see how much they have grown in skills, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Our volleyball team shook off losses in their first two sets to come back and win the third, and they played with such heart. Our 5-6 soccer team came away with a win of 7-4. Way to fly, Cardinals!!
Keep an eye on the calendar below for upcoming events at James River to plan ahead. We also have a few community events in the Lynchburg area for those who are interested.
Let’s Fly!
