“Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence.” – Norman Vincent Peale
Thank you to all of our families, alumni, and community members who participated in our 7th annual Day of Gratitude. While we are still finalizing the numbers, we can proudly say we achieved all our goals for the day. We surpassed $50,000 in donations, achieved more than 50% parent participation, and had over 30 alumni contribute to our Give Day. What a fantastic day of support for James River’s mission. Thank you!
I also wanted to give a shoutout to Athletic Director John Gillum, who led a fantastic celebration at our Fall Sports Awards this past Tuesday. It was a joy to hear of our student-athletes' achievements and growth over the past season. Congratulations to all of our award recipients. They truly embody what it means to be a JRDS cardinal.
My favorite part of the fall season (aside from the weather and changing leaves) is the number of traditions that take place this time of year. James River has several beloved traditions coming up, starting tomorrow with the Halloween Parade and Carnival. This week’s newsletter includes more information about the upcoming Thankful Hearts Feast. Please take the time to RSVP for this amazing community event. We have simplified the registration process, so please take a moment to check it out.
As a reminder, make sure that your child’s name is on their belongings, such as water bottles, jackets, and extra layers. As temperatures change throughout the day this time of year, students may shed layers, and the names on items help us return them quickly.
I look forward to seeing all of the amazing costumes tomorrow at the Halloween Parade.
Let’s Fly!
