Peter Twadell, our new Head of School, began his tenure at James River in early July. He attended the National Association of Independent School's conference for new heads during the second week of July, and has been working steadily to learn all he can about JRDS and its community.
Peter and his wife Suzanne arrived in Lynchburg at the end of June from Marblehead, Massachusetts. Their children, Chloe and William, arrived later in the summer after completing camp. They are all settling into their new home and preparing for fall. William will attend Virginia Episcopal School in the fall, while Chloe will begin her freshman year at Roanoke College.
Mr. Twadell is eagerly anticipating the start of the new school year. It will be an exciting time with all the new students and families, returning students and families, the opening of the facilities: a middle school addition, a new playground, and other campus renovations.
