Summary
James River Day School seeks a full-time Spanish teacher, grades K-8, to begin in January 2024. Spanish instruction seeks to create oral proficiency first, followed by the ability to read and write the target language. Cross-curricular cultural projects help students appreciate the diversity of world languages and the importance of learning about other cultures.

Duties
- Teach Spanish to lower school and middle school students
- Oversee study hall periods
- Serve as an advisor to middle school students
- Other duties as assigned by the Head of School
- Requisite Skills and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree required (in education or Spanish preferred)
- Fluency in the Spanish language
- Strong knowledge of Spanish grammar and vocabulary
- Comprehensible Input methodology preferred
- Ability to create and plan classes, lessons, and activities, effectively promoting the use of multiple methods of problem-solving

Summary
The Academic Technology Coordinator oversees the school IT infrastructure and inventory and supports the technology education and usage for Kindergarten through 8th grade.
Duties
- Maintain inventory of equipment for faculty and staff, including classroom devices and AV equipment
- Serve as the domain administrator for Google Apps for Education, AVAST Business Security Console, Apple School Management, and Microsoft licensing (and others as necessary)
- Ensure all school devices are properly configured and all software is installed and updated regularly
Work with consultants for any projects or other needs - Support classroom teachers with technology integration
- Teach technology (STEM) within classrooms as appropriate or assigned
- Serve as the testing coordinator for standardized academic testing, including the NWEA adaptive test, WrAP test, and others
- Other duties as assigned by the Associate Head of School for Finance & Operations
Requisite Skills and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with managing IT infrastructure, hardware, and software preferred
- Broad knowledge of educational technology
Status: Exempt
Contract Period: Eleven-Month
