Regina Stone
Regina Stone joined the faculty in October 2021 in a faculty support capacity. She enjoyed getting to know the students and teachers as she worked in many classrooms throughout the school that year. In August 2022, she joined Brooke Stanley in teaching fourth grade for James River Day School.
Regina is excited to work at such a prominent and well-respected school, where she notices collaboration and cooperation among the faculty and staff, high standards and expectations for all students, effective school leadership, and a “happy vibe” all around.
Mrs. Stone earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She has loved every minute she has spent in education since beginning her career in 1981 in her hometown of Bunker Hill, Illinois, working as a second and fourth grade teacher. After that, she moved to St. Louis, Missouri, and worked in the private school sector for more than 30 years. Most recently, she taught language arts to third and fourth grade students at The Forsyth School in St. Louis. Along with her classroom duties, she loved her responsibilities as the mentoring coordinator for new faculty and the senior yearbook editor.
Regina moved to the Lynchburg area with her husband, Steve, in the summer of 2021. She has two adult children and three French bulldogs. Reading, gardening, and hiking in the woods are three of her favorite things to do along with camping in her vintage Airstream trailer. She is thrilled to be a part of the amazing faculty and staff at James River and looks forward to making many joyful memories at the school.
