Kasey Forehand

Kasey Forehand joined James River's faculty in February 2015, teaching pottery and visual arts for grades three through seven as a member of the visual arts team. Kasey earned her BA at Lynchburg College, where she focused on fine art and pottery. Mrs. Forehand went on to obtain her master's degree in liberal studies with an emphasis in children's literature, picture book illustration, and museum exhibition design from Hollins University. Of her time at Hollins Kasey said, "It was a great program where I could design my degree!"
She has continued her studies with courses through UVA, the Academy Center of the Arts, as a member of the art scouts teacher program in Tennessee, and online though the Academy of Art University. She also has extensive marketing and management experience with: Amazement Square, the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lynchburg, and the Wildcat Theatre Conservatory, among other organizations.
In 2016-2017, Kasey worked with K-4 students during their library time, teaching them how to use a library, how to research, and inspiring them to be lifelong readers. Kasey now teaches pottery and visuals arts, is our SGA facilitator, and coordinates our club offerings for middle school. She also is working with Ali Cox to lead the middle school's after-school theatre program.

Kasey lives in Lynchburg with her husband, James, and their two children.
