Meagen was hired in August 2020 as the first School Nurse in the school's history. She is a Lynchburg native, but has also lived in North Carolina (Asheville and Raleigh) and Knoxville, TN. She is sohappy to be back home near her family and friends and has planted very firm roots here.
Nurse Mace attended Radford University and graduated from Lynchburg General Hospital School of Nursing in 2009. Meagen's background is in neurology, urology, emergency medicine, case management, and community health, which all lend well to the school environment. She has also completed additional training regarding food allergies and asthma in the school setting.
In her spare time, Meagen enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, baking, crafting, DIY projects (the more power tools, the better!), outdoor activities, and cheering on the North Carolina Tarheels in any sport. Go, Heels!
Meagen's primary focus is working with community health officials, school administration, staff, and students to make James River a healthy space for one and all.
