Rhonda Sydnor

Rhonda grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia, where she graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman's College with a B.A. degree in history in 1988. At the age of 20, she began her teaching career at her alma mater, Brookville High School. Rhonda spent the next eight years of her career teaching history in public middle and high schools. In August 1996, she joined James River Day School. It was the 25th anniversary year of the school and the beginning of the next chapter of the school's history with the addition of a new middle school.
 
Since 1996, Rhonda has been teaching middle school history, organizing middle school activities, and creating and keeping the traditions associated with James River Day School's middle school grades. Rhonda received her Master of Education degree with a concentration in differentiated instruction from Sweet Briar College in May 2006. Rhonda is the mother of Dudley Ann Strosnider Meyer (JRDS class of 2004). Rhonda is married to Buck Sydnor. They reside in Lynchburg with their Boxer, Sabre. Rhonda enjoys cooking, gardening, and golf.
