In August 2019, Ms. Lesko became James River's Director of Operations, handling our facilities, budget, and technology infrastructure. She previously worked as the Technology Coordinator at James River Day School, appointed in 2012. At that time, she began teaching K-7 technology courses and working as the coordinator for the Tech Team to provide support and training to faculty and staff. Today, her primary responsibilities are administrative, but she continues to teach a math class as a way to stay involved with the students. She considers it a privilege to teach and work in a caring community, where students and teachers share a love for learning.
A Virginian, born and raised in Suffolk, Ms. Lesko graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in psychology. After college, she worked as an event planner for a meeting planning company in New Jersey. That was followed by a stint in Gainesville, Florida, where she worked as a recruiter and trainer in human resources for the University of Florida.
Sarah is mother to three wonderful boys and their faithful dog. She enjoys playing tennis, cooking, trips to the beach and spending time with her family. When her family moved to Lynchburg, James River was the obvious choice for her children. Sarah said, "The program in character education and the emphasis on physical play were something that stood out. Working alongside so many dedicated teachers and watching our students thrive has been a gift. I am truly grateful for my James River family!"
