What is the Day of Gratitude?
James River Day School’s inaugural Day of Gratitude will be held on Thursday, November 19. This is a one-day kickoff for our Cardinal Annual Fund campaign. We invite you to share your gratitude for James River by supporting the Cardinal Annual Fund on this day.
What is the Cardinal Annual Fund?
The Cardinal Annual Fund is the school’s most critical fundraising effort, offering essential support to James River’s mission of creating Scholars, Leaders, and Citizens. The Cardinal Annual Fund is budgeted to contribute 7% of the overall operating revenue of James River each year.
What are the goals of the James River Day of Gratitude?
We have three goals for this day:
- $25,000 raised for the Cardinal Annual Fund
- 10 first-time donors
- 50 donations (gifts or pledges)
How do I make a gift?
There are three ways to make a gift.
- Make a gift online at https://jrds.school/apps/pages/cardinal-fund.
- Call Michelle Davis, Director of Development, at (434) 384-7385 x240.
- Mail or hand-deliver a check to the school.
Is there a minimum donation amount?
No. A gift, at any level, means that you believe in our mission and value the superior education that James River provides to our students.
Can I make a pledge? Will it count towards the goals?
Yes, you can make a pledge to this year’s Cardinal Annual Fund and have that donation be counted in the Day of Gratitude goals. Please visit the website or call the Development Office for assistance with making a pledge.
When will the results of the Day of Gratitude be announced?
We will announce all results on Friday, November 20.
How can I encourage others to make a gift?
We would love for you to encourage others to make a gift. You can email, text, or post on social media about the Day of Gratitude. Please help us spread the word!
